attempts to close down those nasty "dens of vice"
in Highwood, it sometimes seems miraculous that
folks can even get a cold beer within the City Limits.
Many meetings, arguments, and even
fist fights
were held -- both impromptu and scheduled --
to "discuss" that "blot" they called Highwood.
As we will eventually see, even
some followers of
Ms. Carrie Nation showed up, with umbrellas in hand.
And worse.
But, those are stories for another day.
